More About Me
My name is David Katsma.
I am a Game Developer who enjoys playing and creating amazing games. I focus on Programming but love to design Mechanics and Game Concepts as well. The game I am currently focussing on developing is Wrath of the Roothless. It's a solo developed game for now. With lots of friends and colleagues playtesting and giving feedback along the way. More about the project here. I attended NHTV's IGAD programme in which I picked the Independent Game Development section, this allowed me to broaden my skillset and further deepen my love for game development. (NHTV is now called Breda University) Currently I work as a general games programmer, my work consists primarily of developing ports from one platform to another. I've been able to work on the No More Heroes 1 and 2 switch and pc ports. As well as Monopoly Madness. At a previous job I was responsible for our internal framework. This framework consisted out of separate modules which quickene the speed of development for our projects. The modules have collectively allowed our small development team to reduce the total amount of work by rougly 2000 hours over a time period of a year and a half. Next to the framework responsibility I often helped my colleagues with tough situations and problems/bugs in code. This resulted in the term Interactive Rubber Ducky. I take a lot of joy in helping/guiding/teaching others, as well as learning more myself. |
